This stunning 10ct gold brooch is collet set with a central, large fancy shape opal doublet. The opal measures 21 mm x 20 mm at widest, totaling an estimated 18 – 20 carats. With a strong and beautiful colour play, showing flashes of predominantly green and blue hues. Set within an openwork frame. With a tube catch fastener and pin to the back. Dates to c. 1950s-60s.
