A beautiful English antique jewel dating to the early 1800s. Designed as a Bilston enamel egg shaped pendant with gilt metal fittings. Bliston enamels are known for their vibrant colourful bodies on a fine copper base. Often decorated with floral scenes and endearing romantic symbols. This sweet piece features floral motifs on a white ground. The top unscrews to reveal a secure compartment, perfect for keep sakes and mementos. The enamel is in very good condition, slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use, no chips or areas of damage. A delightful Georgian antique over 200 years old.
