This beautiful necklace is set with a silver and gold butterfly pendant clasp. The Victorian butterfly is set with beautiful rose cut diamonds to each wing. A central 6mm x 4mm, 0.50carat ruby, a cultured pearl and two ruby eyes. A stunning 3.5mm x 4mm old cut diamond is suspended below and is a slightly later addition. An estimated total of 0.80 carats. The butterfly pendant clasp measures 28mm x 23mm. Suspended from a fine line of akoya cultured pearls, each measuring 4mm wide. The akoya pearls are a slightly later addition and date to c. 1940s/1950s. They have excellent lustre and are creamy white in colour with a slight pinkish overtone.
