A beautiful and decorative ring and earring set attributed to the renowned British jeweller, Sibyl Dunlop. Sibyl Dunlop was dedicated to the gorgeous style and ethos of the preceeding Arts and Crafts movement. Her jewellery was marked by the bold use of colour through gemstones, often creating designs described as carpets of gems. Dunlop’s richly coloured work is distinctive and celebrated. This set dates to the Art deco era c.1920s – 1930s. The ring is gorgeously set with a synthetic velvet hue sapphire, measuring an impressive 16 mm x 12 mm. Flanked by acanthus style leaf shoulders and a plain shank. The earrings are claw set with synthetic sapphires, each measuring 12 mm x 10 mm. With screw back fittings. The pieces are unsigned and attributed to Sibyl Dunlop, coming from a private collection with signed pieces.
